Black Lives Matter
The murder of George Floyd is a flashpoint in the struggle of people of color to obtain dignity, equity, and civil rights in America, but the story starts long before the founding of these United States. It began with the arrival of the first African slaves on the American continent in 1619. The struggle continued with the Three-Fifths Compromise in the U.S. Constitution, that counted each enslaved individual as less than a whole person. It continued with the slave catchers
